You are invited!
On January 25, 2020, you are invited to the Community of the Cross in Black Mountain NC to be part of the dedication of the Prayer House, as well blessing and re-dedication of the Log House.
The date coincides with the time of the Dunamis Fellowship International Meeting.
If you are not able to attend that meeting, but still want to join us for this event, you are welcome to come. The Dunamis Fellowship International will join us that day.
The Prayer House
The Prayer House will still be under construction. However, we expect to be far enough along that we will be under roof and that the interior walls will be at least framed so we’ll have a sense of size and scale.
As we gather to pray on January 25, 2020, we’ll have the chance to pray in a way to shape the future:
- For financial provision to finish
- For the future work of prayer that will happen there.
- For the teaching ministry that will occur in the main room.
- For the global hub of intercession that the Prayer House will become as we connect with other global prayer ministries.
The Prayer House has been a long term dream of the ministry of PRMI, going all the way back to the calling of Brad Long as Executive Director of PRMI in 1990.
We’ve been longing and waiting for years for the time when God would release the funds and pave the way for the building to get going. We’ve received lots of sacrificial financial gifts, years of site planning, drawings and infrastructure planning related to the prayer house.
But during our Kingdom Opportunity prayer focus 2014-2017, the dream began to concretely step into reality.
- Catalytic gifts 2016 and 2017
- Site Relocation in Summer 2017
- Ground was broken to prepare the terrain in September 2018
- Construction site prep started November 2018
- Contract signed for construction from foundation to keys, June 2019
The Log House
The Log House has long been the meeting room and center of fellowship for the ministry of PRMI.
On August 27, 2018, a devastating fire burned the Log House. Since that time, the ministry of PRMI has been off site in other locations while we made plans and raised money in addition to the insurance money to make the Log House a better place.
The Lord provided a miraculous matching gift opportunity and donors not only met that gift, but then exceeded it allowing the renovation to be fully funded in a matter of two weeks.
As of this writing, we are praying for a Certificate of Occupancy by December 15, 2020.
How we’ll pray at the dedication
As we gather to pray on January 25, we’ll have a chance to pray in a way to shape the future:
- For the Log House to once again be a Place of Encounter with Jesus Christ.
- For all the hospitality that will happen as we build a context for the Holy Spirit to work.
- For all those Kairos moments that will change lives that will happen here.
- For the generations of Upward Challenge and With the Wind who will become future leaders in PRMI.
