Watch Rev. Doug McMurry give a brief history of moves of the Holy Spirit, showing how the Holy Spirit is a “west moving wind.”  Doug also connects PRMI’s work in Asia to the Lord’s current move to take the gospel back to Jerusalem.

The following is a session of the Dunamis Fellowship International Annual Meeting in Black Mountain, NC on January 26th,2013 summarizing moves of the Spirit throughout history.

While a review of thousands of years of history may sound rather dull, when one grasps both the outlines as well as the details of how God actually works in the world it is immensely exciting. Doug’s detailed and masterfully reviewed history swept us up in the following principles of engagement in God’s present work.

He demonstrated the Holy Spirit moving as a “West blowing wind,” which ends in the Back to Jerusalem movement.  He shows it as being just the next stage in a continuous process of “waves.”

This affirmed the importance of PRMI’s calling in providing the Dunamis Project equipping, to enable these waves.

It also confirmed that our calling to provide the Dunamis teaching in China is part of God’s master plans for world evangelization.

This review of history emphatically buried the doctrines of cessationism and dispensationalism, which blind people to the power of God and the Kingdom of God, by providing a false, Godless worldview.

This false interpretation of scripture, devoid of the Kingdom and offering the proposition that the gifts of the Holy Spirit stopped, just does not hold up to the facts.
We were given example after example where those people who prayed for Kingdom advance were the true shapers of history.

This was most exciting and confirming as it demonstrated that we who are called as intercessors today are standing in this long line of world-shapers. From this study we saw the patterns and principles by which God’s Kingdom comes-so valuable for our work today.

One attendee, Martha Early, commented:

“The teaching by Doug on the moving of the Holy Spirit through history was captivating! I felt like I was drinking from a fire hose, but I didn’t want to stop! There are such powerful witnesses to God’s work in the world throughout history and Doug brought them to light. I was often reminded of the scripture form Hebrews 12:1-2 ‘Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God’”.
