DP 3 The Power of Prayer -- Virginia Beach VA

Dunamis Prjoject 3 Virgina Beach VA

Have you ever wanted to be more effective in your prayer life?

Do you think God only answers the prayers of “prayer warriors?”

In “The Power of Prayer” we look at how any Christian can pray with vision and power. Sessions move between focusing on growing in intimacy with Jesus Christ through prayer and participating with God in shaping the future through intercessory prayer.

Comments from recent participants:

  • “I feel the Lord used this time to call me into deeper relationship with Him & new work for the Kingdom.”
  • “Renewed my hope to be persistent in prayer”
  • “Thanks for the reminder of our empowerment as believers to intercede for God’s work in the world. I am encouraged to pray for the struggles of my friends and family.”

We cover topics like:

  • The Life of Prayer: Nurturing Intimacy with God
  • Intercessory Prayer
  • Vision and Prayer: Sharing in the Advancement of the Kingdom of God
  • Practical Instructions for Nurturing Prayer

Whether you think you are simply “not good” at prayer, want to go deeper in your walk with God through prayer, or want to grow in your understanding of intercessory prayer, this conference will give you Biblical foundations and practical instruction to help you grow in both personal and corporate prayer, led by the Holy Spirit.

Revs. Allen and Debbie served as co-pastors for over 30 years and are now retired, living in Hampton, VA.  As they attended the first Dunamis in 1991, they have been involved with PRMI for over 25 years and are now faculty in the Dunamis project where they are teaching in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Haiti, and Uganda.  Dunamis changed their lives and ministry and they have a passion to see others released to cooperate with the Holy Spirit.

Rev. Doug McMurry

 DouglasMcMurry 2017

Rev. Doug McMurry has been a Presbyterian pastor since 1982. Baptized in the Holy Spirit in 1972, he remembers well the Presbyterian Charismatic Communion that gave birth to PRMI in the 1980’s.  He remembers, too, the first few years of Brad Long’s tenure as Executive Director beginning in 1990 when Brad and Doug initiated work on The Dunamis Project.  The hope was to move beyond holding inspirational celebrations for large groups of charismatics, to teaching and training Reformed people how to walk in the power of the Spirit--discipling people in “how to do it.”
