The Walk is a simple but powerful form of engagement with God that combines verses of scripture with movement in a way similar to the Stations of the Cross.

In this WALK for the Prayer House, you will spend time asking the Father to raise up the Community of the Cross as an Intercessory Prayer Hub for Advancing Christ’s Kingdom.

We ask the Father in the name of Jesus Christ to grant the following petitions for what is needed in 2018 to complete the building of the Prayer House at the Community of the Cross.

Its Strategic Role.

The Prayer House will play a strategic role at the Community of the Cross Prayer House for the work of intercession for the Kingdom of God.

Jesus Christ says:

“I tell you the solemn truth, the person who believes in me will perform the miraculous deeds that I am doing, and will perform greater deeds than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.” (John 14:12-14)

Jesus teaches us to pray:

“Our Father in heaven, … may your kingdom come, may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven…..” (Matthew 6:9-11)

Johnathan Edwards, in 1740, reflected:

“It is God’s will through His wonderful grace, that the prayers of His saints should be one of the great principal means of carrying on the designs of Christ’s kingdom in the world.”

These principles were echoed in a prophetic word received by Brad Long in 1975 at Jesus Abbey in Korea when he was given the vision for this place:

“A place of prayer and must be built by prayer.”

Directions for the Walk of Prayer:

  1. Spend time in preparation for asking in the name of Jesus Christ.
  2. Linger on each petition for as long as the Holy Spirit directs you.
  3. As you move to the next petition, change your physical location

Preparation:

Affirm friendship with Jesus as the basis for asking in His name

“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” (John 15:15)

Suggested Prayer:  “Lord Jesus, through your Holy Spirit, show me if there is anything that You require of me to deepen our friendship.”

Be led into prayers of confession, repentance and reaffirmation of faith in Jesus Christ.

First Petition: Give thanks

Give thanks to the Father for all those who have given to enable the planning and site work needed for the building of the Prayer House.

We have received about $730,000 since the fall of 2016.

We have spent over $150,000 in these first stages.

Second Petition: Remove Obstacles

Ask the Father to remove all human and demonic obstacles which would prevent the building of the Prayer House and the Community of the Cross becoming a becoming a global hub for intercession.

Third Petition:  Financial Provision

Ask the Father for the additional financial provision needed in 2018 for:

  • administration of the project,
  • construction of the Prayer House,
  • implementing the infrastructure—roads, fire access, landscaping, electrical, water, sewage, permitting, etc. – all needed at the Community of the Cross for this and future building projects.

Current estimates are an additional $800,000 on top of gifts received.

Fourth Petition: Wisdom and faith

Ask the Father to grant the leadership team wisdom (James 1:5-6) to build in God’s way and the gift of faith to receive all that the Lord provides to build the Prayer House and to grow the Community of the Cross as a hub for intercession to advance Christ’s Kingdom “to the ends of the earth.”

Fifth Petition: For God’s presence

Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.” (Exodus 33:15)

Ask in the name of Jesus Christ that God’s presence – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – will fill the Community of the Cross, land, facilities, people and programs, so that it may become a place of encounter with Jesus Christ in which prayer, equipping and sending is taking place to the glory of God and the advancement of His Kingdom worldwide.

Thank you for joining us in prayer. Please share any discernment or guidance with us.
