The Walk is a simple but powerful form of engagement with God that combines verses of scripture with movement in a way similar to the Stations of the Cross at the Community of the Cross.
In this WALK, you will spend time reflecting on the question:
“Lord Jesus, who are you?”
Then you’ll move through the seven “I am” statements of Jesus.
The Walk combines scripture with movement. You linger on each step for as long as the Lord speaks. Change place, even if it just a few feet, when you are led to go to the next step.
Directions: In prayer, present yourself to Jesus and ask him, “Lord who are you?” Linger on each verse for as long as the Holy Spirit invites you to, when He guides you to go to the next step, change your physical location.
First Step: John 6:35
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.”
Second Step: John 8:58
“I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!”
Third Step: John 10:9
“I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture.”
Forth Step: John 10:11-16
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep… “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me– just as the Father knows me and I know the Father– and I lay down my life for the sheep.”
Fifth Step: John 11:25-26
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
Sixth Step: John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Seventh Step: Revelation 22:13-14
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.”
