Finally, after nearly a year and a half of prayer, discernment and preparation we are sending our first Dunamis equipping team to South Sudan! This is a miracle of God opening doors and giving the provision.
The invitation from Bishop Abraham is to bring the Dunamis Project equipping on the Holy Spirit and the Alpha evangelistic approach to this newest nation on earth. In spite of other desperate needs in his Anglican diocese of Aweil, Bishop Abraham’s primary request of us is for equipping for the priests and other church leaders. (Bishop Abraham Nhial, who has been a part of our Dunamis equipping events at the Community of the Cross, is anointed by the Holy Spirit to provide spiritual leadership in this nation torn by war, and now hungry for equipping).
A Macedonian Call – In Oct. 2011,Anglican Bishop Abraham Nhial (a former “Lost Boy”), with Dr Brad Long,asking us to start offering the Dunamis Project to church leaders in the new nation of South Sudan
The initial team responding to this invitation is:
- Frank Drake, who was a missionary to Sudan and is a member of the Dunamis Institute Faculty;
- Christian Zebley – a PRMI partner in ministry and the Director of Global Leadership Dynamics;
- Bill Sever – a lay person from Black Mountain who has a passion to see the gospel spread in S. Sudan.
This is an incredible opportunity. We ask that you prayerfully consider donating toward the $5,000 US required, which is currently outstanding. Your gift will go toward a variety of expenses, including the cost of food and transportation for the 100 priests and church leaders who are expected to attend the equipping event. You will want to designate your donation as “South Sudan Dunamis Fund.” Click HERE to donate online. Please pray for a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
Also, there is some physical danger that the team will be facing as there is still unrest and conflict between South Sudan and its Islamic neighbor Sudan. Pray for their protection.
