From 1990 – 1995 PRMI conducted a number of Prayer Mountain events in Canada and the United States. These were wonderful occasions of focused intercessory prayer often accompanied by fasting.
From 1995 until 2002, the Rev. Alan Leach was the Director of Prayer for PRMI.
He developed a number of programs to encourage prayer in congregations. Some of these were the Harvest School of Prayer and Growing in Prayer. Alan was also greatly anointed for leading prayer events in local congregations.
From 1991 until 2004, PRMI sponsored an intercessory prayer vigil at the PC(USA) General Assembly. For a number of years these were conducted by the Rev. Doug McMurry.
Also a number of prayer events have been sponsored over the years at the Reformed Church in America’s General Synod.
Starting in 2004, Mary Ellen Conners served as the Coordinator of Intercessory Prayer for PRMI and the Community of the Cross — our place set apart for the work of prayer.
From 2014-2016, we held a 3 year prayer campaign called Kingdom Opportunity. We published a 40 day prayer guide on praying through various aspects of PRMI’s ministry at the time.
In 2016, Rebecca Modrynski became the coordinator for local prayer ministry at the Community of the Cross.
At the beginning of 2017, Martin Boardman became the Prayer Mobilizer, facilitating networks of prayer around the world.
In 2017, we launched a Prayer Initiative to develop an army of intercessors who would seek to engage in high level spiritual warfare. It had 3 components:
- Growing the Community of the Cross as a global hub for intercession. This includes building the Prayer House.
- Providing venues, programs, and teaching materials to be used by the Holy Spirit who is mobilizing, equipping and deploying an army of intercessors for fulfilling the Great Commission.
- Forming and supporting the anointed leadership team to accomplish the above two, by providing the administration, equipping, apostolic leadership, as well as the context and networks for intercessors to engage in this work.
