Ignite! provides an opportunity for a congregation to catch the Holy Spirit’s flame and grow in faithfulness to Jesus Christ.

You can kindle or rekindle the fires of renewal so that there may be

  • Deepening fellowship,
  • Growing faith in Jesus Christ and
  • Empowerment to advance the Kingdom of God.

Ignite! conveys a Biblical message that will enrich and empower the people of your church, enabling them to serve with joy.

Each Ignite! event will include worship, teaching, testimonies, practical application of the teaching, prayer, and community building.

Ignite! events are condensed workshops, typically conducted on Friday evenings and all day Saturday.

Ignite! utilizes teaching material from the Dunamis Project.

Ignite! One: Welcome, Holy Spirit!

The story of God’s empowering work building the Church and advancing His Kingdom. Examine the exciting balance between the inward and outward working of the Holy Spirit that provides a Biblical way of growing in both the fruit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

In this Ignite!, you’ll learn the story of God’s empowering work in building the Church and advancing His Kingdom.

You’ll examine the exciting balance between the inward and outward working of the Holy Spirit that provides a Biblical way of growing in both the fruit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

You will hear teaching on:

  • The Trinity
  • Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit
  • Being filled with the Holy Spirit

The overall working of the Holy Spirit is clearly presented as that of giving glory to Jesus Christ and making His presence and work real in the world today.

Ignite! Two: Building the Body of Christ in the Power of the Holy Spirit

Engage in the dynamic of cooperating with the Holy Spirit in doing the work of Jesus Christ to accomplish the purposes of God the Father.

Practical and urgent topics will be discussed,

  • How do we receive guidance from the Holy Spirit?
  • How do I know that what I have received is truly from God?
  • What about the manifestational gifts of the Holy Spirit?

The emphasis of Ignite! Two is the “dance of cooperation” with the Holy Spirit in doing the work of Jesus Christ.

This cooperation helps us have a balanced expression of the spiritual gifts.

Ignite! Three:  Prayer in the Power of the Holy Spirit

On this Ignite! weekend, you’ll take a fresh look at becoming a praying church.

Prayer in the Power of the Holy Spirit guides you into the kind of prayer you’ve been longing for powerful, life-changing participation with your heavenly Father in bringing forth His Kingdom on earth.

Discussions include:

  • Asking in the name of Jesus Christ
  • How vision and prayer shape the future
  • Intercession as standing in the gap

Ignite! Four: The Healing Ministry of Jesus

We will learn why we need healing, what God’s original intention was for us at Creation, and what Jesus has done to bring healing to us today. Healing includes much more than just our bodies aches and pains. We all walk through life wounded and hurt, and Jesus, through His Spirit, wants to restore us in love.

We will explore and pursue

  • Spiritual Healing- our own personal relationship with God.
  • Emotional Healing and healing of memories—wounds of our souls that steal our joy and still make us vulnerable.
  • Relational Healing- broken relationships, failures in love, and trauma impact us all.
  • Healing from demonic bondages and being set free—sometimes the evil one is behind our suffering.
  • Physical Healing- God is still healing His children today.

Ignite! Five: Evangelism in the Power of the Holy Spirit

You’ll learn a way of personal evangelism that is easily doable, no matter what fears stand in your way.

You’ll learn how to cooperate with the Holy Spirit and experience His help in engaging people in meaningful spiritual conversation that helps them take a step towards Jesus Christ.

Discussions include:

  • Four stories that every Christian must know.
  • How to get your story into two phrases
  • How to discern God-given moments to talk about Jesus

Comments from Ignite! Participants

“At our leadership team meeting, we all expressed such awe at the working of the Holy Spirit that we witnessed and experienced. Ignite will prove to be a significant Holy Spirit-initiated and led event in the history of New Life Celebration Church.

I’m coming to a fuller understanding that the Great Commission has more to do with spiritual depth than strategies and structures. It is beginning to resonate with me that the journey from conversion to transformation, from salvation to discipleship is fully dependent on the work of the Holy Spirit. I believe that it is nearly impossible to become Christ-like without saying ‘Come, Holy Spirit, come.’”

“Ignite was an important instrument in God’s continued work of growing our desire for and understanding of ministry that is empowered by the Holy Spirit. I have personally been inspired by the passion and servant heart displayed by the Ignite team not only during our initial Ignite experience, but prior to and following.”

Rev. John Aukema

“I found that the Ignite Team was able to effectively engage our people in a process of learning about the work of the Holy Spirit. This speaks to how they each were able to present the material in a way that was catered to our people, many of whom are brand new Christians. Several people asked ‘When is the next Ignite?’, or said ‘We need more of these.’ Even just a week ago, I heard someone else refer to Ignite as a very crucial time for us at The River. Our people were truly blessed by your presence and teaching. We are indeed looking forward eagerly to the next time that you can join us, and to an ongoing process of igniting our congregation with and by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Rev. Jonathan Vugteveen

After experiencing personal renewal in the Holy Spirit through the Dunamis Project, I’ve longed for my congregation to welcome and cooperate with the Spirit.  I recognize the need for something beyond my own teaching and pastoral leadership:  a Spirit-filled context where people can hear solid Biblical teaching from a Reformed perspective, and at the same time experience a dynamic encounter with the Holy Spirit through personal, practical experiences of prayer.  Ignite creates this context for the fire of the Spirit to touch individuals and spread the flame throughout the congregation – all for the glory of God and the advance of Christ’s Kingdom!

Our church just hosted (November 2023) an Ignite on the Healing Ministry of Jesus, and boy did He surprise us with the power of His love! This Ignite was all about taking the risk of allowing Jesus to touch the deepest wounds in our souls, and bring healing and hope beyond anything we could have imagined. Just the thought of exposing such pain could have been enough to keep many away, but Abba poured out His love through the Ignite Team with such tenderness, that fear could find no foothold. Instead, we came in our raw selves, into the loving arms of our Healer, and have been forever changed. The ripple effects of that weekend continue to impact our worship, our prayer ministry, our relationships, and our mission. To God be the glory!
