The Lord has been moving globally throughout this year of 2020 and the PRMI Global Prayer Call has been made ready for us to pray in the reality of the Kingdom of God.
The Covid-19 pandemic brought the world to a halt and created space in people’s lives. Many of the cultural idols of Western society were suddenly taken away.
In this new space, history shows that either good or evil could fill this space. Stepping into a gap to pray in the reality of the Kingdom of God is part of the work of intercessory prayer.
The Shalom Prayer Calls
The Shalom prayer calls were PRMI’s response and provided a place for people to pray and ask God to advance His reign and rule.
These weekday prayer times started in the time leading up to Easter 2020 focused primarily on the themes of repentance.
2 Chronicles 7:14 was a key verse.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)
Between Easter and Pentecost, the Lord guided us to shift the focus of our prayers a little.
While we continued to return to the theme of repentance and confession, we added prayers which focused on the word “reset.”
These prayers coincided with the Jewish tradition of counting the Omer. The counting of the Omer is a time of growing anticipation for harvest.
Our prayer focus has been that the Lord would reset the global Church and position her for a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.
Every day from Monday through Friday at noon eastern, people from around the world joined in this daily prayer.
Preparing for Pentecost
As part of responding to the guidance from the Lord, we shifted the daily prayer themes to start praying for the Church’s preparation for Pentecost.
This call began on Ascension Day (May 21, 2020).
As the calendar begins to move past Pentecost, we believe that God is guiding us to the theme of restoration and kingdom expansion.
The role of intercession is vital to praying this into reality, as it has been throughout the year.
Global Prayer Call
Beginning Monday, June 1, 2020, you are invited to join a global PRMI prayer call for an hour each Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The prayer time begins at 12:00 noon Eastern US, (adjust for your timezone).
This season has been an opportunity for intercessors to come out of their prayer closets and connect through PRMI’s virtual prayer gatherings.
We shall continue this general work of meeting together to pray as the Spirit continues to lead, and at the same time, seek to develop networks of prayer that can pray more specifically for the restoration of various elements within our society.
