St. Paul, often asked his intercessors to pray for doors to open. For example, “And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. (Colossians 4:3 NIV) We need you to join us in praying for open doors for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and then when they do open the guidance and the means to go through them!

Call for prayer from Chris Walker –

Last week, Chris Walker, Sam Hale and Benjamin McEntire left for Guatemala. They will travel through Friday (Aug. 21) of this week.

Some of you may feel called to join us in prayer specifically for this week for this team. If you’d like to be on that list for more details, email the PRMI office and they will connect you with Judy McManus. Judy is our point person for prayer.

Chris will be with a team (Sam Hale and Benjamin McEntire) from PRMI, and they have been invited to teach

  • What are the gifts of the Holy Spirit?
  • How can the gifts help me grow my church?
  • How can I help my people discover their gifts?

They will be doing about 8 hours worth of additional teaching and training on the person and work of the Holy Spirit.

Chris Walker preached 2 services Sunday, in Spanish, at Central Presbyterian Church. The camp begins on Tuesday (it is geared towards pastors and their spouses and will run Aug. 18-20).

Pray specifically for

  • The Holy Spirit to be poured out Sunday and during the pastor’s conference.
  • Pastors to grant forgiveness to those who have hurt them in wrong experiences.
  • Health for the team, particularly against colds and water borne stuff.
  • The Agenda to come together.
  • Ongoing provision for Latin American Dunamis. They’ve nearly drained the funds on this trip.
  • Safety as they travel around with their hosts.

When Chris Walker get’s home on Friday, he leaves straight away on Saturday to teach in a church about 6 hours west of the capital of Panama, to a group gathered specifically for evangelism training. He’ll be traveling by bus with virtually little rest.

A trip to Nigeria:

James Gray and Funsho Oluro are in Nigeria working with about 70 pastors in the International Dunamis Equipping Process. They will be providing the teaching on the last two units of the Dunamis Project – Spiritual Warfare and Listening Evangelism.

This trip is fraught with danger as well as opportunity for Kingdom work. On the last trip out the team was held up at gun point but managed to get away without great loss. The vision is that we will be able to equip a number of leaders in Nigeria who can implement indigenous Dunamis Equipping Tracks in different parts of Nigeria.

Pray that this email MWS will be anointed and used by the Holy Spirit to equip Christians around the world for more effective witness to Jesus Christ.
