Just before his ascension, Jesus commended his disciples not to leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift his Father promised, which they had heard him speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days they would be baptized with the Holy Spirit.
The challenges of ministry in the Pacific Northwest drove me to reexamine these words.
I needed more power to advance the kingdom of God in my context of radical doubt.
I discovered PRMI in Seattle as I struggled to further God’s Kingdom in a highly secular, highly spiritual neighborhood. PRMI gave me the tools to bring new life to damaged souls through healing and deliverance. PRMI provided me with a solid, biblical, Reformed basis for this essential equipping for ministry.
Gradually, my life and ministry began to feel more like the Book of Acts. Depression and tears are giving way to joy and laughter.
I applied their Dunamis teachings in my congregation by raising up a leadership to apply their systematic biblical teaching of the person and work of the Holy Spirit. These tools helped rebuild our church into a center of restoration.
I delved deeper into PRMI, teaching at various conferences throughout the US, joining their Board of Directors.
Discerning my call to my church in Seattle was complete, I let go of my church and discovered a fresh call to help PRMI develop and establish the ministry of Dunamis in local congregations, beginning in the North West.
Incorporating the fullness of the person and work of the Holy Spirit is the key to rebuilding God’s house. The Holy Spirit empowers the church to equip everyday believers to further the Kingdom of God.
I earned a BA in American History from Yale University, a BFA, Cum Laude, in Acting from Cornish College of the Arts and a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry from Columbia Theological Seminary.
My wife and I live in Seattle and have four grown sons, a pastor, a sports writer, a film maker and a sound engineer.
