Ben Torrey

Co-chair of the Dunamis Fellowship Korea, PRMI Representative to Korea

Ben Torrey is director of The Fourth River Project, Inc. and Jesus Abbey’s Three Seas Center.

He and his wife, Liz, have been living at the Three Seas in Taebaek, Kangwon Do since 2005.

Ben grew up in Korea where, as a teenager, he joined with his parents, Jane and Archer Torrey, in pioneering Jesus Abbey, a community of prayer, high in the Taebaek Mountains.

He served as a self-supporting pastor (ordained in the Syro-Chaldean Church of North America, syrochaldean.org) in Connecticut, USA, for 26 years while working in the fields of computer systems development and knowledge management.

He served as the administrator for The King’s School, a Christian Middle and High School in Bolton, Connecticut.  He was consecrated Missionary Bishop for Korea in January 2018.

Since the fall of 2002, Ben and his wife, Liz, have been responding to a call of God to prepare for the opening of North Korea.  In light of this, he accepted the directorship of Jesus Abbey’s Three Seas Training Center and launched the Fourth River Project.  The work of the Fourth River Project is to prepare people, young and old, to be agents of healing and reconciliation leading to a new united Korea and to bring the gospel to the people of North Korea.

Ben has been associated directly with PRMI and the Dunamis Project since 1999.  He is the official representative of PRMI to Korea and co-director of the Dunamis Fellowship Korea.

He is committed to equipping people in the power of the Holy Spirit and also sees the Dunamis Project as a critical element in the work of bringing unity to the Body of Christ, the most important preparation for the opening of North Korea.
