Prayer is the foundation of everything we do at PRMI. It is the first of PRMI’s four Vision Initiatives, and we are known as ‘Prayer Prioritizers’– those who are doing the work of prayer and who are equipping others to pray. This is at the center of PRMI’s ministry.
In this issue of Moving with the Spirit, we focus on what is happening with prayer in PRMI right now. We have new expressions of intercession and prayer ministry. We are praying and preparing for the Next Great Awakening and have a new Advanced Course in Strategic Intercession and Spiritual Warfare.
The PRMI Prayer House finally passed the necessary inspections in June and we are now allowed to use it for prayer, teaching, worship, and ministry. We hope you enjoy the pictures and are excited to read about how this building will be used to further the work of prayer.
At the end of May, we said fond farewells to Mary Ellen Conners who has been the Director of Prayer for PRMI since 2004. We pay tribute to her ministry and praise God for the gift she has been to PRMI all these years.
We believe that “nothing comes without prayer.” So, as well as updates about prayer there is information about different ways that you can join in with the work of prayer.
The PRMI Prayer House is Open for Ministry
It has finally happened! After years of vision casting, prayer, and hard work, we received our (temporary) Certificate of Occupancy in June. It is the fulfillment of a God-given vision that began 46 years ago.
This has been an incredible journey, from receiving the vision of the Community of the Cross in 1977 in Korea to purchasing the land in 2003 and starting to envision and plan the PRMI Prayer House. In 2016 we received $400,000 and were able to start the building project. The groundbreaking was in the Fall of 2018, and construction started. We had a brief hiatus in the building during COVID when we ran out of funds. We restarted and moved the project along during 2021 and commissioned the building in January this year.
For the past half year, we have faced many obstacles and frustrations in securing the Certificate of Occupancy. We admired a beautiful building but could not yet use it! The work of prayer was going on, but without the Certificate of Occupancy, we could not move the work of prayer inside the building.
But now we can! With the completion of the PRMI Prayer House, and having received the Certificate of Occupancy, a convergence has taken place. The people who do the work of prayer can be inside the building that is a house of prayer!
Thank you for all your prayers! Thank you for your financial gifts! Thank you for your friendship as you have walked with us and shared in this long journey. I think it was long, not because of the building, but because the Lord needed to teach us how to pray and how to do His work only in His way, which is not by power and might, but by His Spirit!
I am watching a dream become a reality. Not my dream, but God the Father’s dream: a dream of many houses of prayer for all nations, so that all the nations may enter into His Kingdom. Prayer is the essential basis for all outpourings of the Holy Spirit, and this will impact the entire ministry of PRMI because everything depends on prayer.
I believe that now, with the PRMI Prayer House finally completed, and with the people and programs already in place, we are moving to the next phase that the Lord has prepared us for. Actually, it is a quantum leap, igniting and sustaining outpourings of the Holy Spirit not just in the PRMI Prayer House, but worldwide. It is the call to take part in a great revival, a global move of the Holy Spirit, the Next Great Awakening, which may well bring the completion of the Great Commission and the return of Christ.
I am confident that Jesus is calling us to this role, and that the PRMI Prayer House as a place of prayer will play a strategic role in the Next Great Awaking because of what Jesus himself promises us,
I tell you the solemn truth, the person who believes in me will perform the miraculous deeds that I am doing and will perform greater deeds than these because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. John 14:12-14

Next Steps for the PRMI Prayer House
The construction of the PRMI Prayer House is complete. But we still have outside work to do, and furnishings to purchase. To cover these costs, we need at least another $150,000.
Please pray with us for these funds to come in. If you are led to give to the PRMI Prayer House, you may give online at
www.prmi.org/give2prayerhouse or call the PRMI office.
Worship, Word, and Wonder
Three years ago, the Holy Spirit spoke to the Dunamis Fellowship International about ‘expanding the place of our tent,’ which was symbolized for us through tent pegs. With the completion of the PRMI Prayer House, we are following this leading of the Holy Spirit. We are obediently stepping into the call to multiply intercessors in the work of prayer, both at the Community of the Cross and beyond. Part of that vision is to build a Community of Prayer through Worship, Word, and Wonder.
The Lord is doing something amazing each week as intercessors come together to seek the presence of our Holy God corporately and individually. During these times, He refines us to walk in holiness before Him and grow deeper in love with Him. The altar of our lives is prepared through WORSHIP, allowing Him to speak through His WORD, and then sitting at His feet in awe and WONDER.
Everyone is welcome to join us on Mondays at 9am at the Community of the Cross, and we are hoping to expand and offer Worship, Word, and Wonder at different times and days in the near future (stay tuned).

The Advanced Course in Strategic Intercession and Spiritual Warfare
After Peter and John had been detained and released by the Sanhedrin, they returned to their friends and prayed:
“Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” Acts 4:29-30
Their prayer contained two parts: consider their threats and give us boldness to speak. These two aspects of prayer are both involved in strategic intercession. We need to pray and consider the threats as we resist the work the enemy is doing to block the Kingdom through strongholds. But this must be accompanied by a petition for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit who gives us the boldness to speak.
This two-fold thrust is at the heart of the new Advanced Course in Strategic Intercession and Spiritual Warfare, which began in March of 2023. This one-year course builds a Biblical foundation for the work of identifying and removing strongholds so that the prayer for outpourings of the Holy Spirit may be answered.
This course included small groups, online meetings, and video teaching materials with two residential Mountain Top Equipping Camps happening at the Community of the Cross in May and October. We are excited to have over 50 participants working through this first course and look forward to seeing the impact of prayer that shapes the future.

Prayer Opportunities with PRMI
To help people find their place of prayer, we offer a variety of ways to connect in prayer and intercession:
Prayer Cohorts: A prayer cohort is a specialized small group focusing on strategic-level spiritual warfare. These cohorts are often short-term in nature.
Prayer Contingents: A prayer contingent is a small group of intercessors praying for a specific area led by the Holy Spirit. They do not normally engage in strategic-level intercession. But, at times, they may be involved in spiritual warfare.
Prayer Networks: A prayer network is a large group of people who feel called to pray for a general or specific area. Most often, communication will take place through email correspondence.
Visit www.prmi.org/prayer-opportunities, to learn more about how you can get involved.
Intermediate Course on Healing and Deliverance
In the past year, we introduced a new prayer course, the Intermediate Course on Healing and Deliverance (ICHD). This course was prototyped in the United Kingdom in the Summer of 2022 and was offered at the Community of the Cross (COC) in November of 2022 and again in April of 2023.
We are getting more calls for prayer ministry at the Community of the Cross and around the US. This course was created to help meet that need by training more men and women in doing healing and deliverance prayer.
Students took part in two online classes as well as the in-person event. They learned what it means to be filled with the Holy Spirit, how to receive guidance, and the dynamic of cooperating with the Holy Spirit, but were not required to have completed the Dunamis Project.
During the event, lectures were offered that covered our basic teaching on how to do healing and deliverance ministry. In the afternoons students worked in small groups with mentors and had the opportunity to practice leading and being on prayer teams. It was amazing to hear the reports each day of the healing that took place in these small groups! Jesus touched people deeply, and the students learned a lot.
We have had more than 75 people participate in these courses at the Community of the Cross. Pictured above is the small group led by James Kearny at the conclusion of the event in April.
The ICHD will be offered again at the Community of the Cross, probably later in 2024. Information about this course and other PRMI-related events can be found on the events page at www.prmi.org/events anytime!

Prayer Ministry
There is a holy expectation for what God plans to do within each of the rooms of the PRMI Prayer House. This space has been saturated with prayers of preparation, invitation, and surrender to Jesus Christ. Jesus is calling more and more people into his presence to receive his healing.
PRMI has been teaching and equipping those whom Jesus has called to join him in his healing prayer ministry for years. It is an amazing experience to watch as Jesus heals his beloved. What a privilege to be in a prayer session as the recipient fully surrenders to him and to watch Jesus speak directly to their hearts, touching their wounds and healing their souls. We are excited to see Prayer Ministry expand as we have the physical space available in the PRMI Prayer House at the Community of the Cross.

Advanced Course on Healing and Deliverance (ACHD)
The ACHD is a year-long course involving three in-person events at the Community of the Cross during which they receive foundational and specialist teaching and are assigned to small groups where they can practice under the supervision of a mentor.
The course also involves reviewing ten books on healing and deliverance ministry, and a project related to the topic that will benefit their local community. During the year students have access to their mentors for additional oversight and resourcing in prayer ministry.
Dates for the in-person events are:
- Oct. 31 to Nov. 5, 2023 – Foundations in Prayer Ministry
- Feb. 6-11, 2024 – Specialized Topics
- Nov. 1-4, 2024 – Project Presentations and Graduation
Enrollment in this course is by application only, applications are due by September 15, 2023. For more information, contact the PRMI office at prmi@prmi.org or visit us at the PRMI website www.prmi.org/events and look for the Advanced Course on Healing and Deliverance.

Leader of Prayer for PRMI
For many of us, Mary Ellen Conners has been a constant presence in PRMI’s ministry. She had connected with PRMI through the Dunamis Project in Minnesota and when a track was offered at her church, Hope Presbyterian Church, she joined the leadership team. In this context, she grew as an effective intercessor and a prayer minister.
Please join us in praying for Mary Ellen as she has transitioned into retirement. If you knew and worked with her, and benefited from her ministry, feel free to send a note to the office or email us at prmi@prmi.org and we will forward them on to her.
