Without our kitchen volunteers, events at the Community of the Cross would look very different.
PRMI’s commitment to hospitality and to building community at events through shared meals depends on the service of these members of our ministry family.
Our volunteers are thrilled to prepare, cook, and serve meals to people who attend events at the Community of the Cross.

A Place of Encounter
The Community of the Cross is a place of encounter with Jesus Christ. Each year, it hosts:
- One Dunamis Track
- Healing Week
- Mountain Top Equipping Camps for Intercessors
- Upward Challenge
- With the Wind
- Prayer Groups
- Prayer Ministry Appointments
- Board Meetings for PRMI
At other times it has hosted Mission Conferences, Family Conferences, and currently runs a summer Dunamis Track for families.
Every event pushed the old kitchen to its limits.
Volunteers would do their best with what resources were available.
The Fire Destroyed the Log House
The Log House at the Community of the Cross has been the site of many personal and corporate encounters with Jesus Christ, God the Father and the Holy Spirit as well as precious fellowship with other believers.
On Monday, August 27 2018, as Brad Long and Mary Ellen Conners were standing outside in the parking area, talking with visitors, they heard a loud “POP”, then saw smoke and later flames coming out of the Log House. The back half of the Log House was destroyed by fire.
A new kitchen is coming
As part of the rebuilding of the Log House, a new and expanded kitchen will be built.
- Double fridge
- Freezer for food storage
- Commercial level dishwashers and dryers
- Warming Bins/Rack
Volunteer in the Kitchen
Do you want to be part of the first team to serve in the kitchen?
The Community of the Cross is expected to once again start hosting events in September 2019 and volunteers will be needed to bless the people attending the events.
Listen in on this brief interview about what it takes to serve in the kitchen.
Your Next Step
Thank you to all our dedicated volunteers! PRMI couldn’t host events at the Community of the Cross without you.
If you’re feeling inspired by the service of these PRMI family members, please prayerfully consider volunteering in this blessing of a kitchen. Even more, we can’t wait to see who will be first to sieze the opportunity to serve the first event.
