About fifty people attended the opening equipping event, Gateways to Empowered Ministry, March 5-9, 2014 at a new Dunamis Project Track in Montrose, Pennsylvania.
We met at the Montrose Bible Conference which was founded by R.A. Torrey during the great days of the revival sweeping the whole English-speaking world at the turn of the 1900s.
Previously, in August 2013, we offered an event called Renewing the Legacy of R.A. Torrey at this site.
There was a move of the Holy Spirit that seemed like touching the deep and mostly underground rivers of the Holy Spirit that had flowed when R.A. Torrey had filled up the Bible Conference with powerful preaching and teaching.
These rivers of life into which we stepped had been kept alive by the many people who had been faithful to the founding vision at Montrose and the intercessors who had been praying for a new outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
Experiencing all this affirmation at the Restoring the Legacy of R.A. Torrey event, we felt the Lord saying that it was time to start a full Dunamis Track and so in obedience we did indeed start!
And the Holy Spirit did continue to work to first off exalt Jesus Christ, and also to bring people into an experience of the empowering work of the Holy Spirit.
What was truly marvelous about this event was the base of people who had already been through Dunamis in the Northeast, who gave depth generally to the fellowship as well as to the leadership team, prayer teams, and worship team.
This “reunion” of people from the Dunamis Projects in Silver Bay, NY, Three Rivers, PA and Black Rock, PA was expanded to include many new people in both the teams and as first-time attendees.
The result of this was that there was an amazing amount of healing prayer and deliverance ministry.
Often times, this much ministry takes place only much later in the Dunamis series when the team who can cooperate with the Holy Spirit are raised up and can provide the ministry.
But, in this case, we already had this more experienced group. This was wonderful! It provided a jump start into this whole dynamic of working with the Holy Spirit resulting in a deep experience of Jesus Christ as Prophet, Priest, and King working in our midst.
I felt like a grandfather having to step back and let others grow as leaders. One’s ego always takes a little of a battering as I love being in upfront leadership.
But I do know that this is what Jesus wants us to do so that all this great teaching on the Holy Spirit can go on to future generations.
This Gateways Dunamis Project at Montrose concluded with the laying on of hands and praying that the Holy Spirit would be poured out. And he was!
There were lots of stories of what happened as we prayed.
When I went forward for prayer the Holy Spirit fell upon me.
I felt the Lord saying to me that He was anointing me for this next phase of ministry in which I will be called to lead in putting in place what is needed for the Kingdom Opportunity 2014-2016, as we prepare for the next 50 years.
This was just what I needed! I am sure that the Lord met everyone else at their point of greatest need for serving in the Kingdom of God.
