This is so incredibly exciting, June 17 – 22, 2013! We offered our Exousia Equipping at the Community of the Cross for those providing leadership for the Dunamis Project and other PRMI programs.
This event was unique in that we were joined by four young adults who are pioneering an internship program we are calling Arise.
The four of them have received previous training through Upward Challenge or the Spiritual Strengthening Course at Calvin College, and are here at the Community of the Cross for six weeks.
They fit right in at Exousia which offers rigorous spiritual leadership development based on the whole idea that it is Jesus who leads through us in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Many of us who are getting older (Like me! I just had my 62nd birthday.) have real concerns about the future of the Church and leadership for the Church.
This Exousia with the Arise interns gives us great hope for the future as we see those whom God is raising up for ministry that advances the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Here are some the things that made an impression on these young leaders at Exousia:
It solidified things I learned in Upward Challenge – how the discernment process works, how to cooperate with the Holy Spirit in kairos moments, roles in the team and how they work together and working on transitions.
Jacob L.
…the dynamic of working with other personalities.
Chase B.
It was world view expanding. I saw that PRMI is a lot bigger than I thought – just seeing that God’s kingdom work is a lot bigger than I realized.
Anthony M.
…being released into leadership. The intercession leader wanted to step out of the room, so she assigned me to be lead intercessor while she was gone. I appreciated the trust she put in me.
