Igniting the Church through the Power of the Holy Spirit

Dunamis helps believers and congregations learn how to better partner with the Holy Spirit to advance God’s Kingdom.

The Dunamis Project provides a balanced, biblical, and practical foundation for understanding who God the Holy Spirit is and how we can cooperate with him.

Dunamis Basics is a condensed introduction to four of the Dunamis Project Courses

The Dunamis Basics courses may be taken as an individual, but are best experienced within a small group. Each course includes 10–15-minute videos, a workbook for participants, and a leadership guide on how to run these courses.

James Karney

Rev. Dr. James Kearny

The Dunamis Basics video course was developed by Rev. Dr. James Kearny, who has been working in and leading churches for the past 30 years. He knows first-hand the need for the power of God to make the local church flourish.

As a pastor, Dr Kearny found these materials addressed the often daunting challenges for believers trying to live as disciples and to make disciples of Jesus Christ.

Dunamis pays close attention to Scripture, following Jesus’ model and teaching.

Dunamis Basics Courses

Each Dunamis Basics video course is accompanied by a workbook that outlines the core teaching and includes topics for reflection, discussion, and prayer.

Gateways to Empowered Ministry

Dunamis Basics #1

Who is the Holy Spirit? How does He work in us and through us? How does the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, answer these questions? This course opens the ‘Gateways’ to life and ministry empowered by the Holy Spirit. We will examine what commonly blocks us from receiving this empowerment, and learn how did Jesus modeled this and taught it to his disciples. Finally, we will go through a simple way to receive this empowerment.

In the Spirit’s Power

Dunamis Basics #2

This course answers the question: “Having been empowered by the Holy Spirit, now what do we do?” How do we hear from God? How can we discern whether we have heard correctly? How do we become aware of the Spirit moving and then move with Him? And what about spiritual gifts? What are they and how can we receive them? You will learn how to “keep in step with the Spirit” and advanced the Kingdom of God for the glory of Jesus Christ.

(11 Sessions)

Power of Prayer

Dunamis Basics #3

How can you go deeper into that great adventure of prayer, centered on Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit? What are the basic ingredients of prayer? What is the power of asking in the name of Jesus? What is the work of intercession and why is it so important? In this course you will grow in both personal and corporate prayer. Led by the Holy Spirit, you will learn how to shape the future through your prayers.

(10 Sessions)

Listening Evangelism

Dunamis Basics #6

When was the last time you shared your faith? How exactly is that done? How can you lean on the Holy Spirit to know when and how to share the hope that is within you? In this course, discover how you can cooperate with the Holy Spirit, listening to Him, and listening to people’s deep spiritual thirsts so that you can play your part in bringing people closer to God so they can begin an eternal relationship with Jesus.
