GivingTuesday – Closed Captioning PRMI Videos

Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of
people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.

The life-giving impact of PRMI’s video teaching does not have closed captioning.

That limits our impact and can hinder people who are hard of hearing from receiving the teaching on cooperation with the Holy Spirit.

Let’s fix that this year.

Amidst the 2020 global pandemic, more and more people are turning to the online context for learning how to cooperate with the Holy Spirit.

On this day of generosity, you can help those who want or need video subtitles to view our PRMI Video Courses, including four Dunamis Video Courses.

Your gift today will provide accurately transcribed PRMI Video Courses for closed captioning.

This continues PRMI’s mission of 2020, to expand our tent pegs and strengthen the cords, stretched out for those who are hard of hearing around the world.

Closed Captioning on videos is helpful for so many reasons!

Younger generations prefer to have closed captioning so they can “read” the video rather than listen to it as they’re scrolling and often use that as a gauge as to whether or not they’ll click to listen to the whole video.

This allows our reach to now become inclusive of the Deaf community….one that is largely unreached by PRMI.

Stephanie McClain, Coordinator for Youth and Young Adults

The process is simple:

  1. Make your gift.
  2. We’ll get the video transcription started.
  3. We’ll upload the transcript after confirming its accuracy.

As you give, we’ll get closed captioning setup in a short amount of time.

As an example, closed captioning the 2-minute video below was done in about 3 hours time.

Rev. Paul Stokes invites you to participate in this project!

Are you ready to make an impact?

Once the funds are in, we can have all our courses with closed captioning in as little as 10 days for over 55 hours of video lessons.

What does your gift cover?

  • $20.00 provides 15 Minutes of closed captioning
  • $45.00 provides 30 Minutes of closed captioning
  • $90.00 provides 60 Minutes of closed captioning
  • $135.00 provides 90 Minutes closed captioning
  • $180.00 provides 120 Minutes of closed captioning

The first $2700 will cover the four Dunamis Video Courses.

After that milestone, we will use captioning funds for additional video courses. Funds received over and above the goal will be used for additional video projects as needed.

The form is not published.

Updates:

11 am. – Video Course 1 and 2 have started being transcribed.

2 pm – Video Course 3 transcription has started

7pm – We still need $800 to get Video Course 4 going.

The plan is to attach the closed captioning to each video as soon as it is ready.

Thank you to everyone who has been contributing.
