For 2018, PRMI is offering a Young Adult Internship. Adam Rampersaud has stepped up to the plate to fill this role.
Adam explains what he will do:
I just graduated from Southeastern University with a B.A. in Practical Ministry and a minor in Bible. This has been a long coming milestone as I’ve answered the call to work in ministry fulltime. While at Southeastern I was equipped with the skills needed to manage the administrative aspects of a ministry as well as help foster growth within the church body. My dream ultimately is to play drums and teach emotional intelligence. I desire to play drums as something that is personal to me and bring joy to my life. I desire to teach emotional intelligence because I believe in balanced emotional health and self-awareness within the body.
For my next step of my journey I’ve elected to take up a 6-month internship with Presbyterian Reformed Ministries International (PRMI) in Black Mountain, NC.
With this internship I will be working administratively, teaching, writing articles, discipling, leading in worship and event planning for a wide range of events.
Within the first 3 months I will work with two teen conferences, a young adult conference, a family conference, a chaplain retreat and a church leadership training. While there I will be trained by the ministry staff and will be exploring the possibility of staying with the ministry permanently.
Admittedly, this is a scary transition, I will be leaving friends and family in St. Petersburg. Transition is sometimes necessary for growth and challenges comfort zones that we’ve built forcing us to grow.
I am writing to invite you to come along with me in my journey financially and in prayer.
For the 6 months I will need to raise enough money to pay living expenses and gas for the car. You can join me in prayer in three specific areas
PRMI has not regularly had interns so we decided it would be best I raise support to help them and to invite others into the process.
I will be moving from St. Petersburg FL to Black Mountain NC. This will be a major shift for me and it is easy to be overwhelmed by what is happening.
Also, we will have about a week between each PRMI Summer event so burnout and exhaustion is a challenge for the entire staff.
Finally, I would like prayer for vision. As I’m interning, I will also be outlining the position I hope to fill at the end of six months. Pray that God gives me the vision he has for his kingdom, this ministry and my life for this season.
My Goal is to raise 700 a month. This is the major need that I have currently with this process. I am asking friends and family if they are willing to commit a set donation amount for 6 months.
I will be giving updates via email, Facebook and Instagram of my experience and what God is doing through your donations. Donations can be made through the link below to occur monthly. Also, as you will be donating directly to the ministry on my behalf, all your donations will be tax deductible.
I look forward to this opportunity and that you would prayerfully consider donating to this internship. I dream to help PRMI grow as they serve God’s kingdom through teaching and discipleship.
