It is December 2019 and things are moving along really quickly since my last construction update (if you missed it, go to Update #9).
PRMI Log House Construction
The Log House is ALMOST finished, and we expect to apply for a Certificate of Occupancy (CO) this week.
The final inside work was done before Thanksgiving – installing kitchen counters and the plumbing.
There are still finishes needed, but nothing inside that will delay the CO.
During the first week of December some work was finished outside the house (steps to the back door and some grading needed for erosion control). Those were the last projects to complete before calling for inspection.
We should be able to get a CO and start using the Log House.
The need for furnishings
We are still facing a cash shortfall for final finishes and the furnishings.
We will be sending out more information soon about what is needed and what it will cost.
Things like tables, beds, chairs, linens, desks, lamps were all lost in the fire.
This week we will bring items that survived out of storage.
We will have a better sense of exactly what survived and what is needed once these are brought back to the Community of the Cross and inspected.
PRMI Prayer House Construction
An amazing amount of progress has been seen at the Prayer House. The framing has moved quickly along.
The week before Thanksgiving we saw trusses going up for the roof.
It is so exciting to see the changes that happen from week to week.
You can walk through the Prayer House now and get a feel for each room and prayer space.
We are still planning a Dedication service at the Community of the Cross for the Prayer House and rededication of the Log House for Jan 25th at 2pm.
Please mark your calendars and plan to join us. We are looking into live streaming the event. Not sure we can pull that off, but stay tuned!
Thank you
Thank you so much for your prayers for this work. We are thrilled to see how the Lord is at work building his Kingdom worldwide.
We are blessed to be a part of that Kingdom building work and these construction buildings at the Community of the Cross will be part of what will support our participation (and yours) in the Lord’s work. Thank you for your partnership with us in this!
