In this final week of the prayer watch, the focus for prayer is the waves of prayer. There is a westward movement of the Holy Spirit which began at Pentecost in Jerusalem and is now returning there. As believers interact with these waves of the Holy Spirit we see the work of the great commission being furthered and God’s kingdom advanced.
Each day during this prayer watch there will be a new post centred around three themes of Praise, Reflect and Pray.
Week 6: Waves of Prayer
Day 39
Praise
Praise the Lord for who he is: God is faithful
they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:23 (NRSV)
Reflect
Reflect upon his word: Hebrews 4:14–16 (ESV)
14Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Pray
Pray as the Spirit leads…
- Give thanks for the prayer house
- Pray that it would become a hub for intercession
- Pray that the Lord would show us the rhythm of prayer for the Community of the Cross
- Ask the Lord to continue to raise up intercessors
