During the ten days between the Ascension Day of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit coming at Pentecost, Luke tells us that the believers gathered to pray.
They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.
Acts 1:14 (NIV)
Since PRMI focuses on the person and work of the Holy Spirit and as a ministry we prioritize prayer, we came together in a global cyberspace prayer room for 10 days (May 30-June 9, 2019), to listen to the Holy Spirit, discern together and then move into prayer and intercession around the specific themes for the day.

The themes we chose
There were three prayer calls each day for people to connect to via phone or internet.
This allowed people from across the Dunamis Fellowship International to find a time when they could join in the prayer.
“I felt so much better prepared to celebrate Pentecost”
– Kayse
Each day there was a separate theme which was the focus for the times of prayer.
These themes came from the section in Dunamis Project 1 “Gateways to Empowered Ministry” which talks about receiving the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
The goal was to pray that individuals, as well as both the ministry of PRMI and the Church would be in a posture where we were ready to receive and experience the empowering work of the Holy Spirit.
In addition to praying into these themes time was spent praying for various ministry expressions of PRMI.
“It taught me to pause and listen more intentionally”
-Lee Ann
During each of the sessions there was time to listen quietly to the Holy Spirit. After sharing and discerning together we were able to spend time in focused prayer, praying into the guidance which the Lord had given to us during the listening time.
“I found the prayer gatherings, no matter when I joined, to be very encouraging and it was good to hear others pray.”
– Cindy

Gathered but Scattered Praying Together
Unlike a local church body which has a geographical location to gather, PRMI and the Dunamis Fellowship International is a scattered community.
While the Community of the Cross is the spiritual and physical home of the community, being able to gather online allowed the Dunamis community to gather together in prayer.
People joined the calls from throughout the US, Canada, the UK and Korea. There were even a couple of people who joined us from Young Life in the Dominican Republic.
We were all able to come together in a global cyberspace prayer room, to listen to the Holy Spirit, discern together and then move into prayer and intercession around the specific themes for the day.
“It really made me focus on the importance of Pentecost. I believe that we were all with one accord and one mind, anticipating fresh power from on high!”
– Zeneida
This model of gathering together for a focused time of prayer is one which seems to work well for the scattered community of the Dunamis Fellowship International.
We spent time praying for individuals, the Church and the ministry of PRMI to be empowered by the Holy Spirit.
We hope to offer more times to pray together in the future as we seek to continue to pray for God’s will to be done.

A Meaningful Time of Prayer
Mary Ellen Conners, Prayer Director at PRMI, observed:
It was exciting to experience a different model of prayer meeting. This gave us an example of how the ministry of prayer at PRMI can be global in scope, even when we can’t physically gather in the same location.
This prayer time connected PRMI people in different countries around the world: US, Canada, Britain, Korea, and the Dominican Republic.
It allowed people (both long term PRMI friends, plus those newer to the ministry) to be involved in the work of PRMI, even if they can’t get to a nearby Dunamis Project.
This online format also allowed us to get to know each other personally, as we prayed for the ministry of PRMI.
There was both a structure and a freedom as we prayed through the agenda. It gave us a model of prayer meeting that is wonderful and participatory.
Most exciting of all, we saw concrete answers to prayer, particularly people renewing their thirst for more of the Holy Spirit in their life.

Dream About the Impact
Imagine the impact of praying for the advancement of the Dunamis teaching around the world, to ignite the Church in the power of the Holy Spirit.
We prayed for you and believers around the world to grow in cooperation with the Holy Spirit.
We prayed for the Holy Spirit to empower us to be witnesses for Jesus Christ and for the Holy Spirit to be at work in our churches, communities, denominations, and nations.
