Community of the Cross Location & Map

Directions to PRMI’s Community of the Cross.

On I-40 Take Exit # 64; go into the Town of Black Mountain toward Montreat. Stay on Montreat Road.

Turn left on North Fork Road - at the Country Food Store (a sign in front usually advertising night crawlers and other delicacies).

Go past the golf course on the left.

On the right, you will see the sign for North Fork, Right Fork Rd. and a big sign for Mountain View Mountain Baptist Church.

DO NOT TURN THERE. KEEP GOING STRAIGHT on North Fork Road.Follow the road down the hill.

Turn right on North Fork, Left Fork Rd. This is opposite the big yellow house on the hill on the left.

You will also see a sign for Laurel Ridge; there is pasture land on either side, on the slope of the mountain ahead you will see a large rock quarry.

Go about a mile, past the end of the pasture land.

On the right, immediately before the bridge over the river, is the stone gate with the signs for the Community of the Cross and Presbyterian Reformed Ministries International - that is our place!

Just before the gate and before crossing the bridge, on the left side of the road, are some places where you may park. Also, if you go over the bridge, on the right is our parking area enclosed with a split rail fence. Parking is very limited so you may want to park in these locations and walk in.

Note: MapQuest does not locate us exactly right. It has us before Black Bear Road actually we are past Black Bear Road and just as you get to the bridge.



The Community of the Cross is in the North Fork Valley. A view in early spring of the cow pastures that you pass through the reach the entrance of the COC.
